PM backs VN-Laos justice co-operation

HÀ NỘI — The Vietnamese Government supports co-operation between the Vietnamese and Lao Ministries of Justice, said Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc.
He lauded the sending of Vietnamese experts to help Laos improve its legal and institutional systems, while receiving Lao Minister of Justice Xaysy Santivong in Hà Nội yesterday.
The Government leader underlined the significance of collaboration between the two countries’ legislative, executive and judicial bodies, particularly co-operation between the two ministries of justice.
He said he hoped the two sides would continue to implement their co-operation agreements to further ties between Việt Nam and Laos.
The Lao minister expressed his wish to receive more assistance from the Vietnamese Government and Ministry of Justice.
Phúc hailed the talks between Vietnamese and Lao justice ministries. He congratulated the Lao Party, Government and people on significant achievements, especially the successful 一0th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and the elections of deputies to the 八th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for the 二0 一 六- 二0 tenure.
He said he was confident that Laos would realise the Resolution adopted at the 一0th National Party Congress and its socio-economic development plan in 二0 一 六- 二0 under the leadership of the LPRP.
Both nations would continue to implement bilateral co-operation agreements in 二0 一 六- 二0 reached by the two governments at the 三 八th session of the Việt Nam-Laos inter-governmental co妹妹ittee in Vientiane in December 二0 一 五, he added.
He confirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State and people would deepen the rapport between the two countries for the sake of their people along with peace, stability, co-operation and development in the region and beyond. — VNS
